Ruth Rubio was born on November 29, 1976, and passed away on October 22, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. A beloved wife, an extraordinary mother, daughter, sister and friend, Ruth brought happiness into everyone’s lives. She is survived by her husband, Rafael Rodriguez; her mother, Magdalena Granados; her brother, Cesar Rubio; and her wonderful children, Alberto Alejandro Cacho, Adrian Cacho, and Alexandra Plancarte.
Born in Los Angeles, California, she brought her vibrant spirit and her 1-year-old daughter to Arlington, Texas, at 18 and 10 years later her two sons were born. Ruth had a passion for fashion and earned her associate degree in fashion merchandising. She made her mark at the General Motors Arlington plant. She worked in the stamping department, where she was the first woman in the plant to fly dyes and she also learned how to drive a fork truck, she worked in body shop, trim and quality departments as well. General Motors was also the place she met the love of her life, Rafael, where they got to know each other.
But it was her adventures that truly defined her. Ruth had a love for traveling with her family. Her two most cherished adventures were when she celebrated New Year’s Eve in New York City in 2019 - where she spent 16 hours with her family to see the ball drop in Times Square. For her birthday in 2022 she explored the breathtaking Grand Canyon and spent the day looking at the sunset with her family. A passionate sports fan, Ruth loved boxing, the Super Bowl, and cheered passionately for the Lakers, Dodgers and the Mexico soccer team. Ruth’s bubbly personality was infections and was a source of joy and creativity. She had a deep love for Halloween and Christmas, she was known for hosting unforgettable theme birthday celebrations for her family. Known for her selflessness, she enjoyed baking, even if cooking wasn’t her favorite.
Her interest included Harley Quinn, collecting anything Hello Kitty and Betty Boop, Dumbo and a hug fan of Coca-Cola, and a proud foodie.
Ruth had a thrill for roller coasters and adored Star Wars, especially Darth Vader. She often referred to herself as “The Mother of Dragons,” a Game of Thrones reference because she has three children. Her favorite colors were pink, purple and black. Ruth loved watching Gilmore Girls with her daughter, El Señor de los Cielos with Rafael and Young Sheldon with her two boys. She drew inspiration from the music of Prince, Ramon Ayala, Enrique Iglesias, and Lady Gaga.
Ruth’s lively spirit, open heart, and her deep love for her family will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to know her. — to Ruth….family… was everything to her.
