ARLINGTON -- Ruth Iola Lawley, 87, passed away on Friday, May 18, 2012, in Arlington.
Graveside service: 3 p.m. Thursday in Faulkenberry Cemetery, Limestone County. Visitation: The family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington.
Ruth was born on Nov. 29, 1924, in Groesbeck, to Ira Lawley and Ruby Kennedy Lawley. She was a member of a pioneer Limestone County and Texas family. Her father was a county attorney and her mother was a county clerk for many years in Groesbeck. A resident of Arlington for the past 45 years, she retired as an accountant from the Federal Reserve in Dallas after 40 years of service. She dearly loved her family and pets, and enjoyed to people-watch and make her specialty, banana pudding.
Ruth was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, William "Boomer" and Jenny Beth Ayers Lawley.
Survivors: Nephews, William R. Bob Lawley and wife, Teresa J., John Ayers Lawley and wife, Pastora; great-nieces and great-nephews, Kristiana Deweese, Samuel Deweese, Amber Kubal, Jenny Elizabeth Lawley and William Oliver Lawley; and other family members.
