Ruth Ann “Annie” Gillespie, 68 of Fort Worth, Texas passed away unexpectedly on July 8, 2024.

Annie was born in Louisville, Kentucky on July 25, 1955. After graduating high school, she left Louisville in 1974. She studied liberal arts, communications, and broadcasting. She then pursued a career in communication and journalism. She started her career in radio as a DJ in San Jose, California before settling in Fort Worth, Texas in 1978 where she advanced in her career in radio at WBAP’s “Bill Mack’s Country Road Show” as the “Weekend Wonder Woman”. She was a DJ until 1986. In 2007, she pivoted to a new career as a realtor. She worked as a realtor until her untimely passing.

Annie was a flower child of the 60s who lived her life with the motto “Peace. Love.” She was a fierce advocate for her beliefs, quick to drop what she was doing to help a friend or family member in need. She loved her family, friends, chocolate, and Mexican Inn. She strived to live organically.

Annie was preceded in death by her parents Chistopher L Gillespie (9/16/1929- 12/25/2001) and Betty June Keefe (12/30/1928 – 2/22/2020).

She is survived by her three children: Jalina Gillespie, Elvis Volz, and Jordan Bryson, all of Fort Worth, and her eight siblings: Joseph Miller (Kathy) (Daphne, AL), Linda Susan Stowers (Everett) (San Antonio, TX), Pamela Lay Hernandez (Victor) (Florence, KY), Sara Lea Martin (Bardstown, KY), Christopher L Gillespie JR (Pearl, MS), Toni Keefe Panyard (Patrick) (Indianapolis, IN), Thomas Michael Keefe (Anna) (Louisville, KY), and Robert David Keefe (Taylorsville, KY), as well as grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family will have a service for friends and relatives to honor Annie at a date and location to be determined.
