Ruth Augusta Schmidt

Ruth Augusta Tippit Schmidt, 87, passed away on Saturday evening, November 2, 2019, with her children by her bedside. Funeral: 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens, Arlington. Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Ruth was born on January 19, 1932 at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas to Ralph Leonard and Edith (Crouch) Tippit. Ruth married Hunter Schmidt, Jr. at the First Baptist Church in Tyler, Texas on November 27, 1954 and spent her entire married life devoted to her husband and 3 children. Ruth enjoyed spending time with her children, and reading mystery novels. Her entire family belonged to the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, in Arlington, Texas where she really enjoyed time as a Sunday School Teacher for the 3-year olds and the 5-year olds. She and Hunter also enjoyed working in the church library. She was preceded in death by her Husband, Hunter Schmidt Jr. who passed away on March 3, 2009 She is survived by her daughter, Dr. Kathy E. Schmidt, of Crowley, Texas, her son Stephen K. Schmidt and his wife Teresa of Waxahachie, TX, and her son Robert L. Schmidt and his wife Florence, of Arlington, Texas. 5 grandchildren, Chris McGill, Ryan Schmidt, Tiffany Pumphrey, Karie Schlottman, and Kimberlee Garrison, and 8 great grandchildren.
