Russell Brian Jones

December 22, 1959 — March 1, 2024

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved husband, son, brother, father, grandfather and friend, Russell Brian “Rusty” Jones. He was born on December 22, 1959, in Dallas, Texas and found peace on March 1, 2024.

Rusty graduated from David W. Carter High School in 1978 and has worked in hydraulics and in the plumbing supply industry. Known for his hard work and dedication, Rusty was a manager at National Wholesale Supply in Waxahachie.

Rusty’s loving nature extended beyond the workplace, as he enjoyed life to its fullest. He and his wife Laura, met playing soccer and shared a beautiful bond for almost two decades. They would have celebrated their 18th anniversary on March 11th. Rusty was a hands-on person, always ready to tackle any project with his characteristic energy and creativity. He found joy in home improvement tasks, loved to travel – especially to the beaches of Portugal and Italy, and he cherished moments riding his Harley.

A calming presence in the lives of many, Rusty’s gentle spirit and kind demeanor endeared him to all who knew him. Never one to speak ill of others, he led a simple and patient life, always there to support his family and friends.

Rusty’s memory lives on through his mother, Glynna Jones; wife, Laura Jones; sons, Cory Jones and Logan Dickey; daughters, Jessica Jones and partner, Kristlyn, and Aubrie Barranco and husband, Wade; brothers, Larry Jones and wife, Paula, Dean Jones and wife, Becki; mother-in-law, Mary Mahon; brother-in-law, Randall Mahon and wife, Becky; grandchildren, Reese and Eliot; many nieces and nephews and extended family.
Rusty was preceded in death by his father, Don Casey Jones and brother, Keith Jones.

As we celebrate Rusty’s life and legacy, we invite you to join us in a tribute to his memory. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 23, at 2 p.m. at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington, where we will gather to honor his enduring spirit and the love he shared with each of us. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to First United Methodist Church in Arlington, TX https://secure.etransfer.com/eft/flexblockcode/donation1.cfm?d2org=FUMCArlington&d2tool=donate, MD Anderson via www.mdanderson.org/myfundraising or sign up to donate blood at Carter BloodCare www.carterbloodcare.org.

Rusty will be deeply missed, but his memory will forever remain in our hearts. May he rest in peace.
