Ruby Juanita Beard, 94, passed away on Sunday, September 30, 2018 in Arlington.
Funeral: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 6, at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Interment: Johnson Station Cemetery, Arlington. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Friday, October 5, at the funeral home.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mission Arlington.
Ruby was born on September 14, 1924 in Arlington to William Raymond Cantrell Sr. and Birdie Mae Bush Cantrell, a pioneer family. She graduated from Arlington High School in 1942 and was a member of First Baptist Church. Ruby was a longtime floral designer and owned Flower Fashions in Arlington. She was given the honor of receiving The Ruby Award from the Christian Women's Job Corps of Greater Arlington.
Ruby walked with the Lord and spent all her life in service to others. For many years she took groups on VBS Mission trips to Juarez, Mexico. Devotion to missions at home and around the world was dear to her heart. Fond memories of her will remain with her family and friends.
Ruby “Nana” was preceded in death by her husband, William David Beard Sr.; daughter, Nancy Lee Woods; and son-of-her-heart, Sonny Wooten.
Survivors: Son, William David Beard Jr.; daughter, Barbara Wooten; brothers, Herman Cantrell and Buster Cantrell; grandchildren, Julie Wooten Shelley, Jason G. Wooten, and Aubry Wells; and six great-grandchildren.
