Ruby Douglas

Ruby Tolentino Douglas, 64, of Grand Prairie, Texas, passed away on March 17, 2024 after her battle with cancer.

Ruby was born on November 3, 1959 to Jose and Miguela Tolentino in the Philippines. Ruby received her Bachelors of Nursing at M.V. Gallego, Cabanatuan City.

After graduating, Ruby immigrated to the United States and started her exemplary 40 year career as a nurse, with the latter 16 years spent at John Peter Smith Surgical Center. Her coworkers and patients alike remember the positive energy she brought to work every day.

Ruby was an active member of the Filipino American Alliance Church. She had a green thumb and loved gardening, traveling, and watching movies.

Ruby will be remembered by all for her compassion, work ethic, humor and strength. She had a beautiful smile that lit up the room and a soul that touched anyone that knew her. She is deeply beloved by her family, coworkers, and fellow church brothers and sisters in Christ.

Ruby was preceded by her father Jose and her grandson Damien Cecilio. She is survived by her children, Jason, Joyce, Joel, Gwyneth, Maxwell, Jeffrey and Jeralynne, and her grandchildren, Theodore, Alexis, Sophia, Nathaniel, Antonio, Charlotte, Natalia, Brendon, and Adam.
