ARLINGTON -- Roy L. Ramsey, 90, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2015.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Thursday at Eastridge Baptist Church, 732 E. Ovilla Rd., Red Oak, the Rev. Jack Ables officiating. Interment: 3 p.m. Thursday in Coker Cemetery, Cooke County. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington.

Roy was born Jan. 7, 1925, in Cooke County to V.M. and Pearl Ramsey. He married Queva Dennis on June 1, 1947, and together they modeled a life of love, devotion and service to others. Roy was a World War II veteran and was awarded the Purple Heart, two Bronze Stars, the Bronze Arrowhead Award and others. Roy worked at Texas and Pacific Railroad and retired from Armored Motor Service. He was ordained a deacon on July 13, 1952, and was a longtime member of Eastridge Baptist Church and a member of the Mike H. Thomas Masonic Lodge. He was like a second father and was better known as Roy-Boy to his nieces and nephews. He was kind, loving, and fiercely devoted to his family.
Survivors: His beloved wife of 68 years, Queva; and numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and cherished friends.
