Rosemary Mckee

Rosemary McKee passed away May 5, 2023, surrounded by her husband of 73 years and many family.

Rosemary was born February 20, 1934 in Eminence, MO to Vollie and Melba Sutton. Rosemary’s father was a career educator and her mother a hairdresser. Rosemary met Kermit McKee in Bell City, MO and the two were wed in 1950. Kermit’s job moved them from Bell City, MO to Memphis, TN then Omaha, NE then Beaumont, TX and finally to Gruver, TX where they resided from 1969-2018. Rosie and Kerm moved to Mansfield in 2018 to be closer to family.

Rosemary led the three-year old Sunday School class for decades and loved leading the children’s choir at First Baptist Church Gruver, TX. She loved singing in the adult choir at church, organizing meals for people at church and supporting the Gruver Greyhounds ball teams, Go Hounds! Rosie and family traveled each summer with friends and loved the Rocky Mountains.

Rosemary is survived by her husband, Kermit McKee, her daughter Pamela Sue Durall, her daughter Kristy Lynn Weldon and husband Mike, and her son Michael Sutton McKee and wife Cammye. Rosemary is also survived by five grandchildren, Aaron, Grant and Tyler Weldon, Sutton McKee and Emilye Clark and by 10 great grandchildren and 2 more expected very soon.

Visitation will be held at Wade Family Funeral Home in Arlington, TX on Thursday May 11, 2023 at 10:00 AM and Funeral Service at 11:00 AM.
