In Loving Memory of Rory Lawrence Tennes

Rory Lawrence Tennes, a loving father, devoted friend, Eagle Scout, and esteemed member of the community, passed away on October 31, 2023, at the age of 64. Born on December 21, 1958, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Rory brought warmth and joy to the lives of those fortunate enough to know him.

A man of many passions, Rory found solace and contentment in nature, especially through his love for fishing and hunting. The peaceful serenity of the outdoors served as his refuge and allowed him to connect with the world in a way that was uniquely his own.

Rory’s devotion extended to his family. His role as a father brought him an immeasurable sense of fulfillment, and he poured his love, wisdom, and guidance into shaping his children’s lives. He adored his grandchildren and cherished the joy and laughter they brought into his world. Rory’s cherished dog, Bella, was a constant companion, providing him with unwavering loyalty and companionship throughout the ups and downs of life.

Professionally, Rory achieved great success as the owner of RLT Pools and B&R Tile, highly regarded pool and tile companies in the community. His dedication and attention to detail were evident in every project he undertook, leaving a lasting legacy of beauty and craftsmanship in the pools he built. Rory’s proudest accomplishment was his work on the magnificent fountains at AT&T Stadium for the Dallas Cowboys, a testament to his skill and expertise in his field.

Rory was preceded in death by his father, Robert Tennes, and his brother, Rodney Tennes. However, his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his mother, Cleona Boon (Royce Boon), his 3 children Ryan Tennes (Kayce Tennes), Sarah-Ann Salas (Alfredo Salas), and Joseph Jenkins (Charissa Jenkins), 11 grandchildren, extended family, and dear friends.

A celebration of Rory’s remarkable life will be held on Saturday, November 4th, 2023, at 4:00PM at Wade Family Funeral Home in Arlington, Texas, where family and friends will gather to honor his memory and share stories that will forever keep him alive in our hearts. Following the ceremony, Rory will be laid to rest through the sacred rite of cremation.

During this difficult time, may we find solace in the cherished memories we hold of Rory. May his legacy inspire us to embrace life’s simple pleasures, to love with all our hearts, and to always seek connection with the natural world. Rest in peace, dear Rory. You will be deeply missed and forever loved.
