Ronald Gene Oerter

Ron Oerter passed away peacefully at his home in Arlington, TX, March 16, 2018. Memorial Service: April 7 at 2:00 pm Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 West Pioneer Parkway, Arlington, TX 76013 Ron was born August 22, 1939, in Fairbury, NE to Fredrick and Maxine Oerter. He graduated from Emporia State University in 1961 while working for the US Department of the Interior as a firefighter. Ron served as 1st Lieutenant, Squadron Commander at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, MS from 1961-65. As Regional Vice President for IBM from 1965-74, Ron made his home in Arlington, TX with Karen and their two children. As a successful entrepreneur, Ron founded Reliance Business Forms in 1974 and proudly ran his company for 48 years. Ron was a gentleman, quietly elegant with a fun loving sense of humor, disciplined and generous. He lived a full and blessed life. SURVIVORS: Daughter, Shawn Wiley, Son, Steve Oerter and wife Nancy; Grandchildren, Dillon Wiley and Haley Wiley; Brothers, Kendal and wife Diane, Doyle and wife Kim, Sister, Nancy Hill and husband William (Wild Bill); former spouse Karen Oerter; and many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews.
