Ronald Dean Burk, 58 of Arlington Texas entered his heavenly home on Thursday, September 24, 2020 at UT Southwestern hospital after a very courageous battle with cancer. Ron was born February 18, 1962 in Jonesboro, Arkansas to Larry & Joyce Burk. He is a 1980 graduate of Mountain Home High School, Mountain Home Arkansas. He graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1985 and then moved to Texas to start his career. It was in Texas that he met the love of his life Darla (Givens) Burk and they were united in marriage on July 5, 1997 and raised three daughters together. Ron was all about his family and sports and often mixed the two by taking his grandchildren to Rangers games and also attending games they played in. He was an avid Arkansas Razorback and Dallas Cowboys fan. Ron was a Christian and was involved in several choirs and singing groups during his time in high school and college, no doubt he is now a member of the Angel's choir. Ron was preceded in death by his grandparents, Obed and Beulah Maguffee and Herbert and Pat Burk, Aunt Bonita Gordils and Niece Aubrey Williams. Survivors include his wife Darla Burk of Arlington Texas, daughters Terri Gilcrease, Arlington TX, Jamie (Eric) Szuch, Charleston SC, and Robyn (Al) Howery, Durango CO. He also leaves behind six grandchildren, Trendon, Emma, Caden, Kamryn, Christian and Kendrick all of Arlington Texas. He is survived by his parents Larry and Joyce Burk of Gassville AR, sister Marsha (Bennie) Burk-Loftin, Gassville AR and brother Steve (Maggie) Burk of Alvin, TX. Also many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends mourn the loss of Ron. There will be a memorial service celebrating Ron's life on Saturday, October 3rd at 3:00 pm, Rush Creek Church, Green Oaks Campus, 2350 SW Green Oaks Blvd, Arlington, TX 76017. A memorial service will also be held in Mountain Home AR at a future time.
