Roberto Reyna, age 77, of Ft. Worth, Texas, passed away on June 27, 2024. He was born on February 10, 1947, in Corpus Christi and grew up in Hebbronville, Texas. He was the beloved husband of Maria Guadalupe Reyna for 54 years and the rock of the family for his children, Maribel Morales and Marcos Reyna, their spouses David and Carolyn and his three grandsons, David, Diego and Isaac.
Roberto proudly served his country as a veteran of the US Army and later retired from the IRS after many years of civil service.
Roberto had an enthusiasm for politics, literature and music. However, his strongest passion of all was for his family and friends. He cherished the moments that came along with those bonds. He shared many lakeside sunrises with the love of his life, sipping coffee and contemplating what the day was to bring. He talked politics and life lessons with his children over a beer and peanuts. He was a constant weekend companion to his son-in-law, always ready to join him for a day of simple errands and many laughs. He loved every genre of music, playing and singing songs for and with his grandsons. He played dominoes with his friends while swapping stories and sharing life experiences. He was never without a book next to his chair, ready to discuss and recommend the next great read.
There was one thing in particular that was very unique about Roberto. He stayed connected to the special people in his life by reaching out to all of them on a weekly basis; every Friday. He sent what he liked to call his “TGIF’s”. A special quote that he would share for the week. Some were his own and many were quotes that he discovered through his many books. The last TGIF he sent was on Friday, June 21st and it is very fitting and speaks to who he was: Tgif…”I have learned that people will forget what you said…what you did…BUT THEY WILL NEVER FORGET HOW YOU MADE THEM FEEL” -Maya Angelou
Roberto touched many lives with his warmth and kindness. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
