Roberta Gail Blackwell

Roberta “Gail” Dowden Blackwell, born 02/20/1940 in Pineville, LA, died 02/04/2020, in Arlington, TX. Preceded in death by her mother, Hazel Killen DeVille and her father, John Paul Dowden, and two sisters, Laura Paula Dowden Bishop and Elizabeth Dawn Casey Bradshaw. She leaves behind her husband of almost 61 years, Douglas Wayne Blackwell, of Arlington, TX; one sister, Rebecca Dowden Bordner, of Magnolia, TX; three daughters, Debra Lynn Blackwell Webb, Carmen Denise Blackwell, and Barbra Gail Blackwell, all of Arlington, TX; one grandson, Daniel Wayne Blackwell, (and Lisa) of Benbrook, TX and one granddaughter, Amanda Diane Blackwell Maldonado, (and Tony) of Austin, TX; two great-granddaughters, Olivia and Maeve, one great-grandson, Murphy, and numerous nieces and nephews. She loved her family, her church, the Holbrook Indian School, gardening both inside and outside, sewing, quilting, reading and trying new recipes and foods. She loved taking care of people and was a nurse for 50 years. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was loved by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
