Roberta Irene Morgan

June 16, 1934 — August 14, 2021

Roberta Irene Morgan, 87, went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 14, 2021. She was born in Ector, Texas on June 16, 1934. In 1948, her family moved to Dallas, Texas. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree and a Masters of Education from North Texas State College. She furthered her education with additional degrees in Special Education from UT Austin, and a Reading Specialist degree from Loyola University. Roberta enjoyed a lifelong career in elementary education. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma. Roberta made her home of 40 years in New Orleans. She loved EVERYTHING about NOLA and encouraged her family to visit often and love it too! After Katrina, Roberta moved to Arlington to be closer to family. Arlington certainly wasn't New Orleans, but she led a fulfilling life with friends, family, work, church, neighborhood, and community. Roberta worked at Gene Allen's Hallmark, where she enthusiastically helped customers. She meticulously arranged flowers as a member of the Saint Alban's flower guild. As a member of Theatre Arlington's T.A.G. Players she presented skits to seniors. Roberta's greatest passions in life were books, travel, music, nature and family. She loved classical choral, organ and piano music, and attended numerous concerts and recitals. Her travels included places abroad as well as within the United States, especially to state and national parks, and botanic gardens. But maybe, her favorite trips were those with family to “The Happiest Place on Earth!” She was a huge influence and inspiration to all. Her happy personality, and infectious laugh will be deeply missed. She is survived by five nieces, a nephew, and her precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Services will be held at Saint Alban's Anglican Parish, 11:00am, September 3, 2021, with internment to follow at Restland Cemetery in Dallas, Texas. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Roberta's honor.
