Robert Tony Santarelli, known lovingly as “Bob,” passed away on November 7, 2024, in Arlington Texas, following a full life.
Bob was born to Tony Santarelli and Mary Rohar in Coal Creek, Colorado on January 3, 1929. He attended North Denver High School, where he was a four-sport letterman, and graduated in 1947. He went on to earn a degree in civil engineering from Colorado State University.
Bob served in Korea for two years, working in ordinance supplying the front lines. He then worked as a civil engineer in Greeley, Colorado, where he met the love of his life, Margaret Ann Casey, after being introduced by friends. The two married on April 21, 1956, and started their family while living in Greeley, before moving to Arlington, Texas.
After arriving in Texas, Bob started his own commercial building business, Colorado Forming Company. In his free time, he enjoyed doing projects around the house, cheering on the local college football team, and telling stories and jokes with friends.
One of his favorite weekly traditions, which he and Margaret carried on for decades, was having coffee with friends after attending Sunday mass at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church.
Bob is preceded in death by his father, Nicoantonio Santarelli, his mother Mary Rohar, and his brother, Ralph Santarelli.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret, his sisters, Lorraine Burner and Mary Lou Delisa, as well as his children Mark Santarelli (Linda), Greg Santarelli (Michelle), Jane St. Andrews (Chris), Ann Campbell (Paul), and Suzie Schroeder (Roland). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at the St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church on December 6 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Diabetes Association.
