Robert Lewis Heard

Robert Lewis Heard, 67, of Arlington, Texas, peacefully passed away Monday, February 11, 2013 at his home. Robert was born April 12, 1945 in Pascagoula, Mississippi to Rayford and Dollie Heard. On December 19, 1962 he married his high school sweetheart, Margie Franklin, with whom he had four children. Robert was a self employed commercial insulator. He lived in his beloved state of Mississippi until 1984 when he decided to move his family to Texas for new opportunities. Robert enjoyed his work and would never have retired had he not been forced to due to his illness. He spent his leisure time watching sports, playing dominos and taking his pontoon boat filled with family out on the lake. He was diagnosed with colon cancer at the age of 59 and bravely battled this disease for 8 years. Besides his wife Margie of 48 years, Robert is survived by; his daughter Christie Gelindon and her three children Blake, Brooke and Richard; his daughter Robbin Sooter and her two sons Will and Thomas Letlow; his son Robert Lewis Heard Jr. and his two children Ethan and Addison; his daughter Jennifer Warren and her two sons Alex and Andrew; as well as his sister Emma Dukes. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers James Heard and Otis Heard. A time of gathering will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2013 from 10:00 until 11:00am at Wade Funeral Home in Arlington, Texas. Pastor Tom Heath will officiate.
