Robert E. Hazlett, 85, passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2018 surrounded by his family. Funeral: Friday, June 22, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 301 S. Center St., Arlington, TX. Interment: Cleburne Memorial Park Cemetery, Cleburne, TX. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Bob was born October 19, 1932 in Cleburne, Texas to Colonel Edward and Nelle Hazlett. Bob's life included 5 years active duty USAF, 28 years USAF Reserve retiring as a Lt. Colonel, 24 years Federal Aviation Administration retiring as head of Dallas-Fort Worth Region, over 20 years as a USAF Academy Liaison Officer and over 10 years as an aviation consultant. He was a dedicated Christian who served faithfully at First Baptist Church Arlington in many areas, including deacon and several committees. Bob was a community leader and volunteer, serving in numerous roles. Survivors: Bob is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Jean Hazlett; his children, Brenda Hazlett, Ed Hazlett and wife, Mitzi, Karen Williams and husband, Mayor Jeff Williams; grandchildren, Nicholas and Amie Hazlett and their children, Lorelei and Michaela; Benjamin Hazlett and his children, Zealand and Amélie; Zach Hazlett; Steven and Natalie Pollitte and their children, Caden and Caleb; Brandon and Suzanne Taylor and their daughter, Kate; Ryan and Morgan Williams and their son, Nolan.
