ARLINGTON -- Robert "Bob" Edward Freeman, 81, passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 in Arlington.
Funeral: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Wade Family Funeral Home Chapel, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Interment: 1:00 p.m. Tuesday Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, Lane A. Visitation: The family will receive friends on Monday from 6-8 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Wade Family Funeral Home.
Bob was born on August 23, 1931 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada to Edward Naman Freeman and Nora Blight Freeman. He was raised in Seattle and was a member of Franklin High School Class of '49. He retired after achieving the rank of Captain in the Washington State Army National Guard. Bob worked for 21 years for Associated Grocers before moving with his wife and six children to Arlington in 1974. He worked for many years as a purchasing manager for McDonald's Corporation. He enjoyed coaching little league soccer and baseball teams. Bob served as a president of the Quail Hollow Home Owners Association. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Bob enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his brothers, Donald and Dennis Freeman.
Survivors: Wife of 56 years, Wilma Freeman; children, Greg Freeman and wife, Candy, Scott Freeman and wife, Iris, Curt Freeman, Janelle Freeman, Eric Freeman and wife, Susan, Laura Marquard and husband, Brian; grandchildren, Gregory, Wendy, Elizabeth, Holly, Maxl, Ben, Drew; and numerous other family members.
