Robert Earl Whittaker passed away on March 29, 2021 from complications from COPD. Bob, as he was known to most, was born on May 10, 1940 in Jackson, Michigan. He graduated from Grosse Pointe high school in Grosse Pointe Michigan and attended Hillsdale College. Bob worked for Burlington Northern Railroad for many years and enjoyed working on computers and even built his own. A friend to many Bob was always willing to help out someone in need. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed having many pets. Bob was predeceased by his father Lynn E. Whittaker, mother Mary E. Whittaker and niece Kimberly Lyn Coffin. He is survived by his sister, Marylyn Whittaker Coffin and husband Ed of Harpswell, Maine, his nephew Christopher Coffin and wife Lorie of Cox's Creek, KY, his nephew Craig Coffin and wife Kirsti of Orange, CA plus many great nieces and nephews, his good friend Nancy Wajda who worked with him at Burlington Northern, his friends Don Riggs and Leo Gilbert who helped him so often at home, and especially David Barnhardt who the family will be eternally grateful to for helping take care of him until the end.
