Robert Chance Munsterman

January 25, 1973 — December 20, 2023

It is with great love and loss we announce the passing of Robert Chance Munsterman (Chance), a cherished and loving husband of 21 years, beloved and caring son, treasured and giving friend and co-worker, a brilliant musician, and a man who will forever touch the lives of every person who had the honor to know and love him.

Chance was born in Pasadena, Texas and settled with his family in El Paso, where he grew up. From an early age, he found his voice and incredible gift for writing, singing and playing guitar and he used these gifts to connect, share joy, lift others up, build lifelong friendships and give back to his communities.

Chance attended Coronado High School in El Paso, and obtained his Bachelors in Science and MBA in Marketing and Finance, both at the University of Texas at Arlington. He formed his first band in high school, wrote and recorded his first album while still in college and over the span of three decades, played with friends in multiple bands, all of which considered some of the best classic/alternative rock bands in Dallas/Fort Worth. Chance wrote and recorded several original albums and numerous singles which reached listeners on all streaming platforms and was featured on several albums as a featured artist. His voice and personality were magnetic. When he sang, he would stop a room.

Chance lived with integrity and his greatest passion was bringing happiness to others. He cared deeply about connecting, helping and supporting others, and measured his true success in his life by how much he had given love to others. These values were integral to his family, the company he was drawn to work for, the people he gravitated to and his family of musicians and co-workers.

When the pandemic began he searched for a way to lift up and help others. What began with singing into a camera phone turned into a bi-weekly interview and live music broadcast. All of the musicians, artists and listeners he met there were all about supporting each other, having fun, growing together and lifting each other up. This was what Chance was all about, at his core.

Our loss is lessened by knowing he was living his best, happiest life, both at work and as a musician, with others who shared the same purpose. When he made a friend, they became a friend for life.

Our family was so deeply moved by all those who gave their time and themselves to help and support. A special thank you for Brett, Mark, Rochelle, Suki, Gette, Jim, Kymn, Heather, Randy, Jon, Brenda, Ken, Travis, Janet, Brandy, Michael, Ryan, Mike, Kat, Trent, Roger, Pat, Laura, Cecilia, Mason, Gerald his work family and our deepest gratitude to the Pantego Fire Department, for your brotherhood, sisterhood. Each of you, and so many more, were with us, going above and beyond to help a friend, to “help a brother down”. We will never forget what each of you did for Chance, for Nicole and our family.
In lieu of flowers, we welcome donations to these three organizations which have direct ties to The Pantego Fire Department. We will forever remember your help, kindness, care and compassion.
