Robbie Lee Stratton

ROBBIE LEE STRATTON (nee' Endersby) Robbie Lee Stratton was born June 12, 1926 to Harvey Endersby and Amber Jewell Dunlevy. Harvey and Amber Jewell had two other daughters, Patti Lee Endersby and Evelyn Endersby. Robbie Lee (as she was known as a young girl) grew up in Garber, Oklahoma during the Depression. During this time her father and mother divorced, and her mother remarried a man named Earl Naugle. She has a half-brother, Tom Naugle, who was born to her mother and step-father. Her mother, Amber Jewell, was a Christian woman, and brought up her children in the Disciples of Christ church in Garber. Robbie grew up loving music and played the piano as a young girl. When she was very young she accidentally severed one of her fingers and the local doctor reattached it. She always said that playing the piano helped her regain the use of that finger. Robbie Lee attended Phillips University in Enid, Oklahoma, a Disciples of Christ college, and one that was strong in the teaching of music. Robbie joined two other young women from Phillips and sang in a trio in the early 1940's. Robbie began dating a young man going to William Jewell College in Liberty Missouri, Robert Magill, whom she knew in Garber. Bob, as he was known, enlisted in the Army Air Corp and was shipped to Galveston, Texas for basic training. Robbie took a train down to Galveston, and they were married in 1945. Bob was transferred overseas to Europe and Robbie went back to Enid, Oklahoma. After the war ended Bob and Robbie settled into Stillwater Oklahoma, while Bob pursued a degree in Engineering from Oklahoma A&M College. During that stay they had their first son, Michael Douglas in early 1948. After graduating from A&M, Bob and Robbie spent a year in Abilene, Texas and then relocated to Fort Worth, Texas where Bob worked at Carswell Airforce Base. In 1952 Patrick Kevin was born and Bob and Robbie relocated to Arlington Texas in 1953. Robbie's first house was on Huntington Drive, where she and Bob lived until 1961 when they built their first custom house at 2005 Woods Drive in Arlington. In the early 70's Robbie and Bob relocated to a duplex home in Richardson, Texas, close by to Bob's office in Dallas. Robbie & Bob moved to Plano and then bought another home in North Dallas near Greenville Avenue in the late ‘70's. In that time frame she and Bob separated and were divorced. Robbie became a residential real estate agent and sold homes in the North Dallas and Richardson area. During that time she was introduced to J. Robert (Bob) Stratton, and they were married in the early 80's. Bob passed away in 1991. Robbie loved to read books, and she could go through a library of books in record time. She also loved to paint with watercolors and belonged to a “wet group” in Arlington who met and painted together. She lived in several apartment homes before finally moving to an assisted living facility off of Randol Mill Road, Arlington Villa. Robbie lived at Arlington Villa in Arlington until her passing on December 13, 2020. She is survived by Michael D. Magill and Patrick Kevin Magill, her sons. Her two daughter-in-law's, Leila L. Magill and Kathy K. Magill, four grandchildren; Derek Magill, Brett Magill, Jennifer Zacharias, Chad Magill; and nine great grandchildren, Sean Magill, Megan Magill, Lauren Magill, Jordan Zacharias, JT Zacharias, Mackenzie Magill, Mason Magill, Ayden Magill, and Ethan Magill.
