Riley James Sexton, son of John Benjamin (Ben) and Amy Sexton, was born on January 7, 2020 and passed away quietly on October 4, 2021, almost 21 months old. He lived his sweet, short life in Burleson, Texas with his parents and his big sister, Hayley.
Riley's life is characterized by his contagious smile and outgoing personality. He loved to play and be with his big sister, Hayley. They would do homework together, play together, watch movies, and dance around the house to fun music. Riley loved to watch video games with his daddy, recently just learning to swing the bat when watching baseball games and playing baseball videos. He enjoyed being the life of the party around the house and with the people he loved. He loved playing Batman and could “Pow” and “Bang” with gusto!
Amy loved to provide many learning opportunities for Riley because he loved to learn. He liked to imitate people and whatever they might be doing. He was learning to count and starting to talk and was always delighted to make people smile.
Riley is survived by his parents, Amy and Ben Sexton, his sister Hayley Sexton, Grandparents Martin Sexton and Charles Sexton, Greg and Sheryl Smith, Great Grandparents Ferril and Phyllis Williamson, along with Aunt Megan Drylie and Aunt Maggie Vandever and Aunt Amanda Sexton, Uncle Stephen Drylie and Uncle Joe Sexton and Uncle Jonathan Vandever, along with his beloved cousins, Eddie and J.B. Drylie and Kai, Natalie, and Jayden Sexton, Mason Vandever and James Raincrow . Additionally, there are many great aunts and uncles and extended family members who love and care deeply for our sweet Riley. Riley was predeceased by his great uncle, Dr. Brad Williamson.
The service for Riley will be at Heritage Baptist Church in Mansfield, Texas on Sunday, October 10 at 2:00 p.m. Wade Funeral Home, Arlington, is handling the arrangements.
