Richard “Rick” Francis Ober, 68, passed away on Monday, October 9, 2017 in Arlington.
Celebration of Life: 3:30 p.m. Friday, October 13, at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Thursday, October 12, at the funeral home.
Rick was born on September 4, 1949 in Chicago, IL. He played semi-pro ice hockey in his twenties. Rick retired after 37 years of service with the U.S. Postal Service. He was an avid golfer and a corvette aficionado. Rick had an endless sense of humor; he was a veritable dictionary of corny jokes! He loved music and knew every song ever written. Rick was a die-hard Chicago fan.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Survivors: Wife, Julia Carr Ober; parents, Harold and Eleanor Ober; children, Brandi Kim and husband, Dohe, Sean Ober, Tori Ober and Matthew Pizer; sisters, Debbie Adcock and husband, Don, Barbara Sheegog and husband, Corley, and Cindy Jackson and husband, Glen; precious grandchildren, Lucas, Logan and Anarose; a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and best friend, Bobby Horne and wife, Tricia.
