PANTEGO -- Richard Henry Depweg, 81, passed away in his sleep on August 27, 2012.
Rosary & Funeral Mass: 9:30 a.m. on Friday at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 1200 S. Davis, Arlington. Interment: Private Family Later. Visitation: The family will welcome visitors 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Wade Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Pkwy, Arlington.
Richard, son of Leonard Sylvester and Julia Elizabeth Depweg, was born on October 7, 1930 in Hamilton, Ohio. He graduated from Hamilton Catholic High School and attended University of Cincinnati. Richard served two years in the U.S. Army starting in 1951, married his high school sweetheart, Lois Ann Gebhart, in 1952 and moved his wife and six children to Texas in 1968. He enjoyed cooking, gardening, volunteering at Mission Arlington and reading to elementary school children.
Survivors: His wife, Lois; children: Launa Barboza and her husband Darwin; Nannette McConnell and her husband Bob; Emilie Burns and her husband Roy; Adam and his wife Jill; Amy Jackson; and Leonard Sylvester Depweg II and his wife Kathleen; grandchildren: Michael, Richard, Nick, Tony, Rachel, Renee, Launa, Rusty, Brittany, Jonathan, Ben, Riley, and Jackson; and great grandchildren: Adam, Alexa, Mason and Jackson. Sisters: Marge Fening, JoAnne Depweg, Carol Johnson, and Ruth Morris.
