Richard “Rich” Henry Clothier, 88, passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 in Mansfield.
Funeral Mass: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 8, at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Parish, 1927 S.W. Green Oaks Blvd., Arlington, TX 76017. Interment: 1:30 p.m., Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, November 7, with a rosary beginning at 7 p.m. at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington.
Memorials: Memorial gifts may be made to “Providing For Our Future” Deferred Maintenance Fund at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Parish, Arlington.
Rich was born on June 22, 1929 in Medina, N.D. to Noel A. Clothier and Mary Margaret Fox Clothier. He resided in Fort Worth and Mansfield since 1964 and lived in Arlington the past 20 years. Rich was a U.S. Air Force pilot in the Korean Conflict, and he retired a Lieutenant Colonel in the Air National Guard. He also retired in 1993 from Lockheed Martin Corporation as an Aeronautical Engineer.
Rich was an active member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Parish. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and and Order of Daedalians. He was a life member of the National Guard Association of Texas. Rich was devoted to his family and enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing and traveling.
Survivors: Wife of 65 years, Mary Riley Clothier; sons, Tim Clothier and wife, Melanie Bacon, and Mike Clothier and wife, Amanda; daughters, Christine Clothier, Barbara Clothier and husband, James E. Greve, Lisa Schubert and husband, Robert, and Rene Kirchoff and husband, Russell Joseph III; sisters, Mary Teresa Heirigs and Katherine Bagby and husband, Robert; 15 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.
