ARLINGTON -- Richard Edward Bennett, 65, a former Austin resident, passed away Monday, Aug. 10, 2015, in Austin.
Memorial service: 1 p.m Friday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington.
Rick was born June 30, 1950, in Dallas to Richard Eugene Bennett and Margaret Koebrich Bennett. He was a 1968 graduate of Nolan High School and attended East Texas State University and Texas Tech University.
Rick pursued a career in art framing that initially led him to Houston and later to Austin. While in Austin, Rick formed a close relationship with Lady Bird Johnson and her family. Much of Rick's work is on display in the LBJ Library in Austin.
Rick was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors: Mother, Margaret Bennett; sisters, Mary Ann Bennett White, Nancy Bernard (Jim) and Patty Brothers (Jim); nieces, Meredith White Moody, Laura Carroll (Phillip) and their daughter, Bre, Nicole Ogden (Bobby) and their children, Alayna and Arik, Ashley Malone (Jared) and their children, Landen, Camryn, Brooks and Mason; nephew, Aaron Bernard; niece, Lauren Brothers; and many friends all over Texas.
