Richard "Dick" Pollard Lord

Richard Pollard Lord, 82, died of West Nile Virus July 16 in Arlington Memorial Hospital. Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 20, at University Christian Church, 2720 S. University Drive, Fort Worth with Dr. Chris Wilson officiating. Sharing stories about Dick Lord: 9:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Interment: Oakwood Cemetery, Fort Worth. Born April 7, 1935 in Arkansas City, Kansas, Dick enjoyed a long and fulfilling career as a Pastor in the Christian Church, Disciples of Christ. He founded Rush Creek Christian Church in Arlington, Texas in 1978 and served as its pastor for 28 years. His theological passions were social justice and contemplation of the Divine. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Rollin Lord and Josephine Pollard Lord. Survivors: Wife of 32 years, Janice Carol Pettigrew Lord; sons, Richard Scott Lord and wife, Lauren, John Steven Lord and wife, Jennifer, James Rollin Lord and wife, Keri, Christopher Charles Harris and wife, Marti, and Philip Tran Harris; daughters, Lisa LiAnne Amoriello and Robyn Rachelle Rinearson and husband, David; brothers, Rollins Lord and wife, Naomi, Michael Lord and wife, Cindy, and Steven Lord; and 11 grandchildren.
