FORT WORTH -- Regina Zaskoda Hammonds, 85, passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2014 in Fort Worth.
Funeral: 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. Rita Catholic Church, 5550 E. Lancaster, Fort Worth. Interment: Shannon Rose Hill Memorial Park, Fort Worth. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Monday with a rosary beginning at 7 p.m. at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington.
Regina was the 8th child out of 14 born in Nada, Texas to Frances (Wostierk) and Peter Zaskoda. She lived and attended schools in several towns in South Texas, the last being Sealy, before residing in Fort Worth in 1943. Regina graduated from Mt. Carmel Academy, married Charley Hammonds and had 9 children. She retired from the Poly Post Office. Regina was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church and choir for 50+ years.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charley; sons, Mark, Alan, Charley and Chris; sisters, Annie Marusik, Mollie Zaskoda, Georgia Davidson, Marcella Shelton, Lillian Celia and Bernadette Macalik; and brothers, Harvel, Jerry, Rudy, Daniel and Joe.
Survivors: Daughter, Cecilia Allen; sons, Leonard, Robert, David and wife, Violet, and Tony; 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
