Reece Antonia Shepard

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of 14-year old Reece Shepard. Ryan Shepard and his loving wife Leah have lost their youngest, sweet Reece on 12.29.21 after an unexpected illness. They appreciate the outpouring of support, love, and kindness from their family, loved ones, Gospel City Church and AFD families during this sorrowful time.

Reece, affectionately called Reecey-P and Reece-Pieces, was born on September 1st, 2007. From infancy through her teenage years, Reece was the brightest light to her family. Anyone who knew Reece, knew her sweet nature, contagious laugh, and loving heart. She was a dedicated and talented gymnast with incredible determination and grit, pushing herself to always be her best self. She was always up for a wall-sit or push-up contest and would easily win with a grin on her face without breaking a sweat.

She adored spending time with babies, toddlers, and younger children as she volunteered in the nursery and Sunday school at her church, Gospel City Church. She poured her heart into making younger children feel loved and important. She was an animal lover and adored her dogs, Willow, Rocky, and Bully. Reece looked up to her older brother, 15-year old Finn Shepard. He is an accomplished wrestler and shares his sister’s determination and grit. Reece and Finn were jokesters, pranksters, and best friends. They regularly served as each other’s loudest cheerleaders, second only to mom and dad. She was a doting daughter, supportive sister, beloved granddaughter, a fierce friend, and a Christ follower.

To know Reece was an absolute joy. She was pure sunshine and is at peace now in the presence of Jesus. Please continue to wrap around the Shepard family in prayer and thought.

Visitation:
The Shepard’s will receive family and friends Monday, January 3, from 5:30-7:30p at Gospel City Church (2221 W Park Row Pantego, TX 76013).

Celebration of Life:
A Celebration of Reece’s life will be held on Tuesday, January 4, at 2p. The service will be held at Gospel City Church inside the main gym at Pantego Christian Academy (2201 W Park Row Pantego, TX 76013).

The family has requested that everyone in attendance wear blues and teals which were Reece’s favorite colors.
