Raymond Earl Martin

ARLINGTON -- Raymond Earl Martin, 83, passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2016 in Arlington. Graveside Service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Moore Memorial Gardens, Arlington. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Friday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Raymond was born on November 28, 1932 in McAdoo, Texas to Roy Carl Martin and Alice Harper Martin. He served as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during WWII and the Korean Conflict. Raymond graduated from Arlington High School and Arlington State College. He was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church in Arlington. Raymond was a member of the Arlington pioneer families-Hugh Smith, Harper and Roy Martin. Survivors: Son, Raymond L. Martin; daughter, Dr. Elaine Staten and husband, Dr. Jim; brother, Louis Martin; sisters, Betty Wiley and Mary Anderson and husband, Jim; and grandson, Dr. Ian Staten and wife, Lindsay; and his beloved cat, Lilly.
