Raymond Brewer, a beloved member of the Arlington community, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2024, at the age of 78. Born on March 12, 1945, in Fort Worth, Texas to the late Grady Brewer and Ola M. Hunter, Raymond lived a life filled with love, family, and dedication.
Raymond was a man of integrity and hard work. He devoted 29 years of his career as a Quality Control Inspector at Siemens in Grand Prairie, Texas. Later, Raymond transitioned to work as an Aerospace Assembly Worker for Vought in Grand Prairie, dedicating 12 years of his life to the aerospace industry. His strong work ethic and attention to detail were admired by all who knew him.
Outside of his professional life, Raymond found joy in various hobbies. He was an avid fisherman and loved spending time casting his line and relaxing by the water. Car shows were another passion of his, and he took great pleasure in admiring and appreciating beautifully crafted vehicles. Raymond also enjoyed working on cars, finding satisfaction in repairing and restoring them.
Raymond’s warm and caring personality extended beyond his interests. As an active member of Church in the Gardens in Arlington, he found solace and community among his fellow congregants. His presence will be deeply missed within the congregation.
Raymond is survived by his loving daughter, Melissa O’Keefe, who was a constant source of pride and joy in his life. He also leaves behind a step-daughter, Michelle L. Cremers, and her husband Ron; his son, Nathan L. Brewer, and his wife Willine; his son, Timothy D. Brewer, and his wife Caroline; and his brother, Robert Brewer, and his wife Helen. Raymond was a doting grandfather to 21 grandchildren and a great-grandchild. He also leaves behind a niece and a nephew, who will cherish his memory.
A public viewing to pay respects to Raymond will take place on February 16, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Wade Funeral Home in Arlington. The funeral service will be held on February 17, 2024, at 11:00 am at Wade Chapel, followed by a graveside service at Hawkins Cemetery at 1:00 pm on the same day.
Raymond Brewer’s presence will forever be missed, and his memory will be treasured by all those whose lives he touched. He will be remembered as a loving father, dedicated worker, and cherished friend. May he rest in eternal peace.
