Randall Hooser

Randall (Randy) Ray Hooser at age 73 died peacefully at his home in Arlington in the early morning of January 7, 2018. In February, 2014, Randy was diagnosed as having myelofibrosis, and that is what eventually took his life. Memorial service: 2:00 pm Sunday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Randy was born in Dallas, Texas, on June 18, 1944. His father was in the US Army and stationed in Detroit, Michigan, but when Randy was due to be born, his parents brought him to Dallas so he would be born as a Texan. After WWII, Randy grew up in Hughes Springs, Texas, and a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio, with four brothers. After graduating from high school in 1962, Randy spent three semesters in college and then about two years in the US Navy. While in the Navy, Randy became a member of the church in which he remained for the rest of his life. Years later, he was ordained a deacon. After the Navy, Randy then finished his college education at the University of Texas at Arlington with a degree in accounting. He then quickly qualified as a CPA. For most of his career, he had his own tax consulting business, Randall R. Hooser and Associates. He retired in early 2016. Randy married Christine (Tina) Ann Orth on July 18, 1971, and they spent the rest of their lives together in Arlington. They were members of United Church of God. Tina worked for many years as an elementary school librarian. “Nana and Papa” were much loved by their grandchildren. Randy and Tina were always remarkably hospitable and hosted many gatherings of family and friends in their home. Randy was preceded in death by his wife Tina and two brothers, Roddy Hooser and Jeff Hooser. Randy is survived by his son, Oliver Hooser and wife, Clarissa de Campos; daughters, Eleanor (Ellie) Hooser; Lorraine (Lori) Holladay and husband, Mark; and Elizabeth (Liza) Hooser; two brothers, Don Hooser and Jim Hooser; and six grandchildren, Andrew, Luke, Liam, Caleb, Abigail (Abi), and Joel.
