ARLINGTON -- Ralph Leon Briggs, 95, passed away on Monday, Oct. 12, 2015, in Fort Worth. Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church, 301 S. Center St., Arlington. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens, Arlington. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Ralph was born Oct. 7, 1920, in Pickton to Edward Briggs and Kate Payne Briggs. He graduated from Grand Prairie High School. Ralph was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He served in World War II. He married Faye Austin in 1945. An Arlington resident for 70 years, he and Faye were charter members of Fielder Road Baptist Church. He retired as a purchasing agent for Better Monkey Grip Rubber Co. He later worked for 20 years at UTA in the Central Stores Dept. and was honored as employee of the year. Ralph was a member of First Baptist Church in Arlington. Survivors: Wife, Faye Louise Austin Briggs; daughters, Jan Briggs McDaniel and husband, Howard, and Jennifer Briggs Gerst and husband, Michael; grandchildren, Stuart McDaniel and wife, Kelli, and Ethan McDaniel and wife, Courtney; and nine great-grandchildren, Sarah, Olivia, Liliana, Zadie, Ellasyn, William, Katherine, Caraline Kate and Victoria.
