Quoc Huu Nguyen

Our family is deeply saddened to announce the peaceful passing of our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Mr. Nguyễn Hữu Quốc, Dharma name Quảng Châu, at 2:00 AM on March 22, 2025, at his home in Arlington, Texas.

Born on May 8, 1957, in Vietnam, Nguyễn grew up in a time of hardship and responsibility. After losing his father at the age of 14, he assumed the role of caretaker for his younger siblings and aging mother, putting aside personal dreams to support his family during and after the war. He did so with an open heart and unwavering dedication.

Nguyễn immigrated to the United States to pursue a better future for his children. He carried with him the values of hard work, humility, resilience, and deep compassion. He believed in living simply and virtuously — and led by quiet example in all aspects of his life.

He is survived by his loving wife Thùy Dung, his children Anh Thư, Anh Minh, and Hưng Quốc, and four beloved grandchildren: Thanh Tâm, Ngọc Duyên, Gia Hòa, and Vạn Hưng — all of whom will carry forward his legacy of strength, humility, and care.

Nguyễn was a devout Buddhist and a dedicated Huynh Trưởng (Senior Leader) of Gia Đình Phật Tử Thiện Hoa 2 at Chùa Hưng Quốc, Quận 11, Vietnam. He devoted his life to guiding the younger generation on the path of Buddhist practice — teaching them to live with virtue, mindfulness, and compassion. His Dharma name, Quảng Châu, meaning “spreading light,” reflects his vow to serve others and walk the path of awakening.
