It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Preston Lowe, who left us on September 13, 2024, shortly after he celebrated his 80th birthday. Born on September 1, 1944, Preston lived a life full of hard work, love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to his family and friends.
A true blue-collar man through and through, Preston believed in the value of honest work. He was a loyal employee at General Motors in Arlington, TX for 30.8 years. He rarely missed work and was an active member of the UAW.
Outside of work, Preston was always up for an adventure, whether it was spending time at the lake, deer lease, horse track, casino, chili cookoffs, bowling, golfing, traveling in their fifth-wheel trailer -as long as he was in the company of his loved ones. He enjoyed the simple pleasures in life —watching sports & westerns, napping (in his later years), eating yummy food, picking on anyone that he liked, and blurting out funny sayings. But his favorite times were when he was surrounded by his wife, children, grandchildren/ great-grands, family, and friends!
Though the final years of his life were marked by chronic illness, stubborn Preston did not give up. He faced many new health challenges and adapted to each new level of care, with the love and support of his wife of 52 years and the love of his life, Ann. Even when life slowed him down, he found joy in the time spent with family and friends.
Preston is survived by his wife, Ann Lowe, his children Teresa May (Gary May) of Edmonds, WA, Robert Lowe (Cindy Lowe) of Keller, TX, Tonya Barr (Mark Barr) of Burleson, TX, Kimberly Pressley Whittle (Matt Whittle) of Longview, TX, his brother Jackie Lowe of Arlington, TX, his sisters-in-law Jo Lowe of Maypearl, TX, Pat Caston of Cleburne, TX, Linda Robertson of Wimberley, TX, and 12 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews who will forever remember his love, humor, and the nicknames he gave them. His spirit will live on in the countless memories he created with everyone lucky to have known him.
Preston is preceded in death by his parents, Burlen and Paulene Lowe of Arlington, TX, his in-laws Loyd and Delma Robertson of Red Springs, TX, his favorite sister Dianne Jarvis (Butch Jarvis) of Springtown, TX, his brother David Lowe of Maypearl, TX, his daughter Tina Marie Russell of Everett, WA, his brothers-in-law Dub Robertson of Wimberley, TX, Kenneth Williams of Ranger, TX, Jim Caston of Cleburne, TX, and Jack Robertson of Dallas, TX, his sisters-in-law Katherine Williams of Ranger, TX, Barbara Robertson of Dallas, TX.
A service to celebrate Preston's life will be held on October 12, 2024, 1:00 pm at Wade Funeral Home 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington, TX 76013. Come and go reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in his honor to North Central Texas Council of Governments: General Donation (nctcog.org) that supported him through his illness.
Rest easy, Preston (Pop, Daddy, Papaw, Uncle Preston, Halo, Clyde, Willie P.)
Your laughter, stubbornness, and love will be missed more than words can say. Until we are “TOGETHER AGAIN”
