Polly Watkins Morgan

June 8, 1929 — November 1, 2019

Polly Morgan was called home into the arms of her Savior on Friday, November 1, 2019. Polly Erin Morgan was born June 6, 1929 in Fort Worth, Texas to William and Bird Watkins. She graduated from Bronxville High School in Bronxville, New York. She returned to Fort Worth soon after graduation and met Ernie Morgan, a young soldier returning from war. They were married in September of 1947. They were happily married for 68 years until he went to be with the Lord in 2016. They had three children. Polly loved her Savior and her family and served them faithfully her entire life. First and foremost, she served her family, devoting time and care to her three children at home. She also found great joy in serving the church, through opportunities such as church librarian at Southcliff Baptist Church and joining Ernie on mission trips and retreats with the various ministries they served. She served in multiple administrative roles during her career, retiring from the Texas Highway Department in 1989. Polly had a bright smile and inviting nature. She and Ernie loved to entertain at the family's lake house, where you could often find her frying up freshly caught catfish with homemade German chocolate cake for dessert. The lake was her happy place and she loved to share it with family and friends. She enjoyed traveling across the country with Ernie to track down ancestors and build her extensive genealogy files, and never left a destination without making a new friend. In her spare time, you could find Polly gardening, bird-watching or telling stories of travel while flipping through old pictures. She is survived by her children Paul E. Morgan and wife Eve, Melanie E. Morgan Patterson and husband Cliff and David A. Morgan and wife Lindy, nine grandchildren, twenty-five great-“grands” and two great-great grandchildren. Polly's family would like to thank Heartis Arlington and Alev Care for their wonderful love and care over the past year. Celebration Service: Saturday, November 9th 2:00pm, Fielder Church, 2011 S.
