Pier Giorgio Scorcelletti

ARLINGTON-Pier Giorgio Scorcelletti, 86, passed away on April 2, 2017 in Arlington. Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 6, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 5819 W. Pleasant Ridge Rd., Arlington with Father Michael Holmberg, celebrant. Interment: Emerald Hills Memorial Park, Kennedale. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Pier Giorgio was born on May 6, 1930 in Pistoia, Italy to Ferruccio Scorcelletti and Clementina Chini Scorcelletti. He graduated from The University of Pisa in 1954 with a doctorate degree in Geology. In 1955, he accepted a position as a geologist with Gulf Oil Co. for the continent of Africa, where he worked for more than 40 years. He moved to the U.S. in 1977 to be senior Geologist for Africa. Pier Giorgio was a great family man and a loving father. He married Dunia Polizio in 1955 and the couple had 2 children together, Sabrina Jones and Marco Scorcelletti.
