Phyllis Elizabeth Haynes

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Phyllis Elizabeth Haynes on October 14, 2023. Phyllis was born in Trinidad on July 3, 1939, to her beloved parents, Drucilla and Julius Haynes.

Phyllis was a woman of many passions and had an infectious spirit that filled every room she entered.

With a zest for life and an incredible work ethic, Phyllis dedicated 20 years to CalTex Petroleum as a secretary. She later worked for American Airlines for 17+ years, where she served in the reservations department. Her warm personality and dedication made her a beloved colleague and friend to many.

Phyllis was known for her love of church, where she found solace, inspiration, and spiritual guidance. In her free time, Phyllis enjoyed cooking delicious meals for her loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her sisters: Sybil Haynes,
Lucille Quamina, Elsie Walker and Agnes Birkett;
niece: Sherma Wong Kang;
and best friend: Faye Johnson.

Phyllis is survived by her son: Sherwyn Cox;
grandchildren: Quiyana Cox, Elijah Cox and Heaven Cox;
great-grandson, Cassius Houston;
sons-in-law, Steven Wong Kang and Frank Johnson;
nieces: Michelle Birkett and Gillian Walker;
and nephews, Richard Walker, Ronald Walker, Roger Walker, and Garvin Walker.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, October 21st, 2023 at Wade Family Funeral Home Chapel in Arlington, Texas.
