Philip Curtis Koehn, 76, passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2017 in Arlington. Funeral: 11:00 a.m. Friday at Grace Lutheran Church, 210 W. Park Row Drive, Arlington. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens, Arlington. Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Born to Howard Koehn and Pauline Erdmann Koehn in Danville, Illinois, Philip (Phil) Curtis Koehn, known as Poody in his younger years, left to be with his Savior on August 15th. Preceding him into God's kingdom were his parents, and his older siblings Fritz and Elaine. Howard owned a car dealership and there Phil built, then raced, his first car when he was twelve. At seventeen, he met his soulmate, Barbara Cox, at Danville High. Barbara followed him to Michigan State where they married, graduated and from there launched to start Phil's simultaneous careers in both sales management in the packaging and automobile leasing businesses. Moving to southern cities in search of the perfect hometown and bearing two sons along the way—Curt in Memphis and Kris (Fred) in Charlotte—they found their Eden in Texas. Phil served his Lord faithfully by contributing to his beloved church, and by sharing God's love with all he met. He had the unique ability to conduct substantive conversations with everyone; from a banker to a gas station attendant. Anyone in need could rely on his sage and candid advice, a sympathetic ear, his sweat and muscle, an introduction to his boundless network, and any other resource at Phil's disposal. Survivors: Phil leaves behind in this existence his beautiful wife, his loving boys, Curt's wife Michelle and their two children, Sophie and Ciaran, and Fred's girlfriend Noel. After a lengthy health battle, he proved to his creator how thankful he was for his earthly life by fighting until the very end.
