Peter Cross, 83, passed away in Arlington, Tx. on September 17, 2021. He was born in Leeds England on January 30, 1938, to Ann and Walter Cross. A memorial visitation will be held at Wade Family Funeral Home on Friday, October 1, 2021, from 6 pm to 8 pm. The memorial service will be held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 4400 W. Arkansas Lane, Arlington, Texas 76016. Masks are highly encouraged by the family but are not required. Peter graduated from the University of Birmingham in England with a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering. He married the love of his life, Diane Lesley Orchard, on March 7, 1964. In the late 1970's, Peter, Diane and their two young daughters moved to the United States where Peter continued his career in computer graphics engineering on flight simulators. His career consisted of a lot of travel which Peter enjoyed. Peter retired in 2006 and enjoyed playing golf, although surprised at how difficult a golf game was. Peter loved his family and was very involved with them. He dearly loved his six grandchildren and hardly ever missed an event. He adored his daughters and was very proud of them. Peter was very calm, collected and a logical thinker that always gave great advice. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Diane Lesley (Orchard) Cross; daughter, Suzanne “Suzie” McLaughlin and husband John; son in law, Brian Schwettmann; grandchildren, Ben McLaughlin, Christopher “Chris” Schwettmann, Chelsea Schwettmann, Liz Dudley and husband Ryan, Claire Schwettmann, and Heather McLaughlin. Peter is preceded in death by his daughter, Debbie Schwettmann; parents, Ann and Walter Cross; and his brother, Geoff Cross.
