Patrick Kirby Thornton

Patrick Kirby Thornton, 53, died unexpectedly January 3, 2018 with his family by his side. Services: Visitation from 6 to 8 pm on Monday, January 8, 2018 at Wade Family Funeral Home, Arlington, with services at 11 am on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at St Barnabas in Arlington. Interment will follow immediately at Greenwood Memorial Park in Fort Worth. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family has established the Patrick Kirby Thornton Memorial Fund to be used for the children's educational purposes. Donations should be addressed to The Bank of Texas, attn: Amy Shirley, 600 Penn St., Fort Worth, TX 76102. Kirby was a graduate of the University of North Texas (Political Science) and Texas Christian University (MBA). He was employed as the Senior Manager of Customer Insights and Analytics for Pier 1 located in Fort Worth. His earlier career was in the Newspaper and media fields in Dallas, Cleveland, and Cincinnati. He was a huge fan of TCU, GO FROGS! He greatly enjoyed road trips, hiking, gambling, and music. He adored his family, a good dive and sang some mean karaoke! Kirby was predeceased by his mother, Priscilla Thornton. Survivors: He is survived by his wife, Melissa; his children, Halie, Meredith, and James, his father, Jack Thornton, his stepmother, Liz Thornton, his sister Julie, and an extended family.
