ARLINGTON -- Patrick James Sweeney, 43, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2014 in Arlington. Funeral: 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens, Arlington. Visitation: 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials: Memorial Donations may be made in Patrick's name to Mission Arlington or the ASPCA. Patrick James Sweeney was born on February 24th, 1971 in Los Angeles, California. He brought love and laughter to all who knew and loved him, and his absence will be deeply felt. He attended schools in California, Oklahoma and Texas and he graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a B.A in History. Patrick was a lover of history, politics and world issues and he loved a great debate. He was devoted to his wife and partner of 20 years, Dawn Arriola, and they shared a passion for those less fortunate. Many organizations benefited from their commitment to community service such as Mission Arlington, Meals on Wheels, and the ASPCA. Patrick loved to travel, and he spent many happy days with his extended family in Ireland and England. Survivors: He is survived by his wife, Dawn Arriola, parents, Herbert John and Mary Sweeney, sisters Maria Colleen Sweeney and Angelique Sweeney Buchta and many beloved family members in the US, Ireland, England and Australia.
