Patricia Ann Porter

April 11, 1942 — November 1, 2024

Arlington

Patricia Myers Porter, surrounded by the family she loved and inspired during a joyful life rich with friends and devotion to God, died on November 1 after a prolonged illness. She displayed courage and more concern about those privileged to know her than her dying self.

“Patty” was born the eldest of four children in Dallas on April 11, 1942 to Eli and Martha Myers. Growing up, Patty was a cheerleader in junior and high school, an honor roll student, and a graceful dark-haired beauty of high cheekbones and perpetual smile. She was voted “Most Athletic” in her 1960 senior class at Dallas Thomas Jefferson High School and remained a Cheerleader for Life for 82 years.

Patty attended Baylor University in 1960 and graduated in 1964. It was during her freshman year that she went on a double date and met her husband of 60 years, John. Despite the date not being with John, they quickly had a first date of their own and married January 24, 1964.

Patty and John went on to have two daughters Pam and Katie.

Over the years, Patty stepped forward to lead at home, and later in a business career at Sky Chef airline services where she served as Executive to the CEO.

Patty and John were long-term members of Fielder Church in Arlington and their beloved Sunday School class. Patty was also a faithful member of church choir, book club, water aerobics, and Kappa Kappa Gamma Alumni Association. These many friends have stood by them steadfastly during the past year.

Patty was a prompt and prolific writer of thank-you notes to friends, siblings and others for shared experiences and common courtesies. She missed no opportunity to express her gratitude to anyone fortunate to share the orbit of her life, for decades or a mere afternoon.

Patty is survived by her Husband, John Porter of Arlington; daughter, Pam Carmona of Arlington; daughter and son-in-law, Katie and Will Feldhaus of Lexington, Kentucky; brother, Micheal Myers (Karen) of Ft. Worth; sister, Judy Pettibone of Humble; grandchildren Daniel, Claire, and Lillie. Patty was preceded in death by parents, Eli and Martha Myers of Dallas and her youngest brother, Richard Myers of Ft. Worth.

Patty fiercely loved her family. She was a faithful friend and a blessing to so many. She will be greatly missed.
