Patricia Janet Astey, 82, passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 in Arlington.
Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 23, at St. Barnabas United Methodist Church, Arlington with Rev. Tag Green officiating.
Pat was born in Barberton, Ohio and spent her early childhood in California. After moving back to Ohio, she raised her family in Akron and worked for 30 years as a District Manager for Avon Products. Upon retirement, her passion for serving others led her to become a Tour Director for a nationwide bus touring company where she enjoyed both the travel and the people.
In 2002 Pat moved to Texas with her husband, David, and they lived their fullest lives serving others at St. Barnabas United Methodist Church. She wore her title as the Volunteer Coordinator loud and proud up to her very last days.
The little lady with the big footprint will be sorely missed by all whose lives she touched.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband, David Astey; son, John Tengea III; parents, George C. Slough and Margaret Ellis Slough; brother, Gene Slough; and sister, Connie Harmon.
Survivors: Children, Tim Tengea and wife, Brenda, Joni Tengea Washburn and husband, Mark, Dan Astey and wife, Kathy, Bob Astey and wife, Colleen, Shari Pass and husband, Ric, and Fred Astey; brother, George Slough and wife, Christie; grandchildren, Jackie Bragg and husband, Keith, Stephanie Wilkinson and husband, Ryan, Joey Washburn, Madeline Washburn and fiancé Enrique Rodriguez, Scott, Emily, Caleb, McKenzie, Ryan, Susan and Jenna; great-grandchildren, Lillian, Travis, Olivia, Jordy, Kane, Jacob, Luke and Lyla.
