Opal Faye Porter, 83, passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 in Fort Worth.
Funeral: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 22, at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington with Pastor James Cox officiating. Interment: Cedar Hill Memorial Park, 8301 Mansfield Hwy., Arlington, TX 76001. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Opal was born on November 15, 1935 in Palestine, Texas to Vera Williams and Clyde Williams. She moved to Fort Worth at the age of 12 and graduated from IM Terrell. Opal worked as the Cafeteria Manager for Our Lady of Victory Catholic School in Fort Worth. She was a member of Grace Temple Seventh-day Adventist Church, Profession of Faith, and Great Saint James Baptist Church.
Opal possessed a strong faith in our Lord Jesus Christ with an unconditional love for all people. She enjoyed fishing, cooking, spending time with family, the Temptations Movie, Blue Bell Ice Cream and spoiling her fur baby, Chance. Opal lived her life believing in prayer, laughter, family and love through the good and the bad times. She rarely complained and always saw the goodness of God in all circumstances. At the end of her life, she battled her illness courageously always believing all things work together for good for those who love God.
To her children, she was Courageous, Strong and Supportive.
To her grandchildren, she was a Teacher, Forgiving, and Loving.
To her great-grandchildren, she was known at Putt-Putt who was SOO MUCH FUN!!
We love you Putt-Putt, this life will never be the same without you.

Opal was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde Williams and Vera Williams; spouse, Maurice Porter, children, Eloise Gray, Brenda Gray, Billy Gray and Joseph Gray; grandson, Jonathon Craig Gray; and great-grandchild, Jadyn Vales.
Survivors: Children, Michael Gray and wife, Carla, Linda Bryant, Frederick Gray, and Debra Woodard; daughter-in-law, Debbie Gray; 18 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
