Nova Jane Morgan Blount, 86, passed away on October 18, 2024, in Arlington, TX.
Jane Blount was born on June 2, 1938, in Oklahoma City, OK, to John Clayton Morgan and Annetta Lyles Morgan.
Jane graduated from Southeast High School in Oklahoma City in 1956. She attended Oklahoma A&M (soon to be called Oklahoma State), Central State in Edmond, OK and attended classes in Indiana as a newlywed.
Jane married Cooper Blount on June 27, 1959, in Oklahoma City, OK. The couple had 2 children, Beth Kinman of Arlington, TX and Christopher Blount of Tulsa, OK. They raised their family in Tulsa.
Jane worked many jobs as a young adult and then became a stay-at-home mother after the birth of her children. Later, Jane worked for Zee Med, selling basic medical supplies to corporate and industrial clients.
Jane was known for her sense of fun, creativity and volunteering. She loved to travel, read, watch mysteries and visit with friends in her spare time. She added fun to holidays and gatherings with costumes, creative gifts and games. She also had a knack for making simple things around the house, beautiful. Jane was also active with a group of friends playing monthly table games. Later, this group became a Red Hat group that enjoyed many outings together.
Jane and Cooper were members of First United Methodist (now First Methodist) Church of Tulsa for many decades. In addition to the worship, Jane and Cooper enjoyed the company of their Sunday School Class over the many years.
Jane is survived by her children: Beth Kinman (Mark) of Arlington, TX and Christopher Blount with Michelle Andersen and Luka Toon of Tulsa, OK, her grandchildren: David Kinman of Dallas, TX and Stephanie Kinman of Arlington, TX. She is also survived by her brother: David Morgan (Linda) of Hideaway, TX, and her nieces and nephew.
Jane is preceded in death by her husband Cooper Blount, and her parents, John Clayton and Annetta Lyles Morgan.
She was loved and will be missed.
The graveside service will be held on November 7th at 11:00 AM at Graceland Cemetery, Jermyn, TX. Memorial donations can be made in Jane's name to the Salvation Army or First Methodist Church Tulsa.
