ARLINGTON -- Norman Gene Bracken, 80, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2013, in Arlington.
Graveside service: 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 1, in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, Lane A, with Father James Gigliotti, T.O.R., officiating.

Norman was born Jan. 24, 1933, in Tampa, Fla., to Eugene Bracken and Edna Russell Bracken. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Norman worked as a software engineer. He enjoyed woodworking, photography, and repairing electronics. He was a furniture craftsman.
Norman was known for his great sense of humor and being a good father.
Survivors: Wife, Shirley Bracken; sons, Jeff Bracken and wife, Theresa, Marc Bracken and wife, Cindy; daughters, Cindy Bracken, Susan Pesquera Thorton, Carol Bracken and Vicki Bracken; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
