Norman Dale "Sonny" Wooten

MANSFIELD -- Norman Dale "Sonny" Wooten, 72, passed away Sunday, Aug. 21, 2016, in Mansfield. Funeral: 11 a.m. Thursday at Mansfield Church of Christ, 580 Pleasant Ridge Drive, Mansfield. Interment: Johnson Station Cemetery, Arlington. Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Memorials: Donations may be made to Mission Arlington or the Arlington High School Alumni Association. Sonny was born Nov. 1, 1943, in Fort Worth to Riley Alton "Pete" Wooten and Margaret Prestage Wooten. Sonny was a 1962 graduate of Arlington High School. He was a self-employed hardworking entrepreneur. Sonny loved his family and friends dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents and baby son. Survivors: His high school sweetheart and wife of 51 years, Barbara Beard Wooten; son, Dr. Jason Wooten and wife, Jill; daughter, Julie Wooten Shelley; sister, Jane Morgan and husband, Bill; grandchildren, Griffin Shelley, Lexie Wooten and Laney Wooten; mother-in-law, Ruby Beard; brother-in-law, Dave Beard; and numerous family members and friends.
