Norma June Mapes, age 94, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 26, 2019 in Granbury, Texas.
Celebration of Life: 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 31, at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Interment: 12:30 p.m. at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 30, at the funeral home.

Norma was born on June 9, 1924 to the late David and Florence Schwaderer in Marion, Ohio. She married Virgil Mapes in February 1954 and had three children, the late Jeffrey Lynn, and daughters, Debra and Kelley.
Norma participated in multiple volunteer programs throughout her life and was known for her contagious compassion of loving and serving others. Her passion for serving led her to Chase Bank as a Customer Service Representative where she thrived and retired from in 1986.
She is preceded in death by her husband and son, three brothers, and one sister.
Survivors: She is survived by her two daughters, Debra Swafford and husband, Bob of Arlington, Kelley Hobbs and husband, Billy of Granbury; grandsons, Michael Cross and wife, Stacy of Canton, Ohio, and Matthew Swafford and wife, Jessica of Arlington; first great-granddaughter, Grace Elizabeth Swafford; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
